About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the South African winery Le Riche masters this red wine in the beautiful and sunny countryside of the coastal region. The dominant Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 — Le Riche Richesse is the missing puzzle piece on your wine rack. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Cabernet Sauvignon with pizza with mushrooms or ribeye steak.
Tasting note
Inviting aromas of sweet cherries, fresh raspberries and blackberries, as well as a beguiling scent of violets. A crisp start is followed by a summery fruit explosion of red berries and just a subtle hint of cedarwood. On the palate, chalky tannins and an appetizing acidity highlight the delicate but persistent finish. A harmonious blend where Cabernet Sauvignon gives body and complexity, while Cinsaut provides enchanting perfume and accessibility, making for a truly versatile wine.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with fried lamb or a braised lamb stew with curry.
Vinification
The grapes were fermented separately in traditional open concrete tanks with regular pumping. The secondary fermentation took place in tanks, after which the wines were transferred to French oak barrels. After one year of aging, they were blended and stored for a further 8 months in 225 liter and 4500 liter oak barrels. The Richesse received no fining.
