About the wine
If we can offer something special for Christmas 2021, it's this outstanding Nebbiolo 2016 La Morra Barolo DOCG. With sensitivity and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Elio Filippino masters this red wine in the sunny and blooming countryside of Piedmont. Tasting note
The intense bouquet is characterized by a complex variety of aromas of ripe berries - especially raspberries and blackberries. This is accompanied by subtle hints of grapes and dark chocolate. On the palate, this Italian red wine spoils you with a full-bodied, long-lasting character that, despite all its strength, does not lose its elegance. The finale is wonderfully long-lasting and is accompanied by berry tones.
Culinary recommendation
All kinds of dishes with game and lingonberry sauce, aged cheeses, but also desserts with fresh fruit.
Vinification
The Nebbiolo grapes for this single-varietal wine are picked by hand and carefully selected in the Elio Filippino wine cellar. The mash is then fermented in a temperature-controlled manner. After the fermentation process is complete, this wine rests in Slavonian oak for a total of 24 months.
