About the wine

The winery can look back on an eventful history. But it wasn't until Jens Reidel and Christine Dinse took over the estate in 2009, made Karsten Peter winemaker and turned everything upside down, that the glorious times of the 1960s to the 1980s are built on again. Gut Hermannsberg only owns large vineyards and there is hardly a winery in Germany that has such an abundance and variety of prime locations. Even the entry-level Riesling shows unequivocally that this potential is being fully exploited. This is no longer a secret and Gut Hermannsberg is being showered with lots of praise, points and awards.

Tasting note
Modern Dance - extremely delicate, light-footed and expressive, sometimes flowing the movement, the delicious, sweet orange fruit, creamy, then sinewy again, athletic, tart herbal notes, the bright vital minerality. On the palate, a fascinating dance, full of zest for life and full focus, every movement is precise, light and full of energy, citrus fruit, slim, firm, flexible body, tart bright minerality, always shines in the air - and the dedication to being one, being with yourself, is always felt, that touch of creamy fruit. The fascination of Riesling, this playful joy, these easy movements, this precise and perfect art. Great wine from an excellent Riesling year!
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: It goes well with mushrooms, prawns and Indian cuisine. Our recommendation: The white wine tastes best at slightly chilled 8°-12°C.
Vinification
Selective harvest by hand. 48 hours maceration of the crushed grapes, spontaneous fermentation and approx. 18 months maturation on full yeast in steel tanks and half-pieces (600l barrel). 5 years of aging in the bottle before the wine is on the market!
