About the wine
This powerful Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 — Insónia Tinto Vinho is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Picturesque and sunny landscapes of Alentejo give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Portuguese winery Herdade da Figueirinha conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Cabernet Sauvignon can be served very well with ribeye steak or Gruyère burger.

Tasting note
The insónia is an intense ruby red with purple reflections. On the nose, strong aromas of wild strawberries, blackberries, sultanas and spicy notes of tobacco, licorice and black tea inspire. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and dense with lots of red fruit, spicy notes of mocha and liquorice, a well-integrated acidity and velvety tannins. A powerful cuvée that wonderfully combines the wonderful berry fruit of the Touriga Nacional with the powerful structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the intensity of the Alicante Bouschet.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled meats, burgers, beef steak, stews & cheese.
Vinification
The grapes for the Insónia come from various locations around the winery. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and carefully mashed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The expansion is also carried out in stainless steel tanks.
