About the wine

It all began with a lot of courage and even more visions, a small farm and two horses at the end of the 1960s - Rocco's father, Oliviero Toscani, every year invested all his savings in his dream of owning his own land here near the now celebrated Bolgheri. After having planted over 4,000 olive trees and a herd of Appaloosa horses, Cinta Senese pigs, Angus cattle and homing pigeons, this creative, down-to-earth family felt like growing their own vineyard. On 12 hectares, they now cultivate organic vines in a kind of amphitheatre with a breathtaking view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. In 2014, the trained photographer Rocco took over the business from his father. Today, with a passion for origin and nature, together with winemakers Attillio Pagli and Valentino Ciarla and agronomist Stefano Bartolomei, he produces artisanal, expressive wines that are second to none.

Tasting note
I Toscani is our winery's first wine. It was born as a tribute to a great man who loved sharing, happiness and good wine in company: my grandfather Fedele. Rocco Toscani with this incredibly versatile, flattering, floral wine, almond blossom, a touch of marzipan, plum compote, even fully ripe mirabelles. Super smooth on the palate, very fine tannins, tasty with lots of freshness and juiciness, beeswax and spice underline the game, long-lasting and only bringing joy.
Culinary recommendation
Vinification
Very selective reading by hand. Temperature-controlled, spontaneous fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts of both types together in steel tanks, aging for 6 months in steel tanks and a certain period of time in the bottle. Vinified with as little external influence as possible and only minimally sulfurized.
