About the wine

The grapes for Hainburg Rot come exclusively from vineyards in the immediate vicinity of Hainburg. The soils, microclimate and other geographical characteristics of this region have an enormous influence on the character of the wine. “Hainburg Rot” is a red wine with a balanced texture, a deep structure and well-integrated tannins. It is round and velvety.

Tasting note
Strong ruby garnet, purple reflections, wider ochre brightening Red berry nuances, fine herbal seasoning, delicate of licorice and mandarin zest. Medium-bodied, some currants, subtle tannins, accentuated acid arc, mineral aftertaste, a lively accompaniment to food.
Culinary recommendation
A ragout or stew made from deer meat goes great with pasta. The tender, aromatic game meat in a hearty sauce makes a delicious combination that tastes particularly good in the cold season.
Vinification
The grapes were destemmed and fermentation took place in open fermentation containers. The wine was then aged in 500-liter barrels and stainless steel tanks for 18 months.
