About the wine
The winemaker from the French winery Clos St-Julien greets us with this wine, which he grows in the Bordeaux countryside. There is something left over from Easter dinner every year. Do you know that? Tasting note
Shines in a deep ruby red hue. The nose is dominated by aromas of black cherries, blackberries and plums, which are complemented by subtle wood notes, tobacco and a touch of spice. The palate is full and round, with ripe tannins that give the wine a pleasant structure. The fruit aromas continue, accompanied by fine minerality and elegant, long-lasting freshness. The finish is harmonious and shows the potential of this wine for long-term aging.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with fried beef tenderloin, lamb racks, duck breast and aged cheese.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. After destemming, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature to preserve fruitiness. The wine ages in French oak barrels for 12 to 15 months.
