A must for connoisseurs, this dominant Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 — Gran Coronas Reserva DO! You can describe the landscape in Catalonia with words such as barren. However, the Spanish winery Miguel Torres is trying to express the beauty of their homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded! The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Cabernet Sauvignon with Gruyère burgers or pizza with mushrooms.

Tasting note
More than 40 years ago, Torres began experimenting with new varieties that had previously been untypical of Spain. The result was a Cabernet Sauvignon Tempranillo cuvée that matured longer in barriques. This was the birth of Gran Coronas Reserva, which quickly became one of Torres' best wines. A dark cherry red in the glass. Intensely fruity with blueberries and blackberries with spicy juniper notes and balsamic notes. Warm on the palate with velvety tannins, which are nicely rounded off by aging in barriques. A very successful reserve for little money!

Vinification
The Tempranillo grapes are harvested from the beginning of September, the late-ripe Cabernet Sauvignon only from the end of the month. The grapes stay on the mash for 14 days and then ferment at around 28-29°C in stainless steel tanks for a week. Then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (30% new timber).
