About the wine
The Ego Bodegas stand out for their modern building just outside Jumilla, as does the winemaker Santos Ortiz, who has set new standards in the Murcia region with his wines. The old Monastrell grape vines benefit equally from the Mediterranean and continental climate. The label shows a portrait of Ortiz's charismatic ancestor, who was nicknamed “Goru.”

Tasting note
Dense purple with purple reflections. The lavish nose image delights with aromas of black wild berries, black cherries and blackberries. Mediterranean wild herbs, caramelized walnuts and tempting gingerbread seasoning complement the bouquet. Fine tart cabernet notes and a subtle roasted note give the elegant aroma additional depth. On the palate, there is a velvety-soft flow with delightful Monastrell sweetness and impressive fullness. Crisp, fully ripe tannin accompanies the nuanced black fruit aromas into a fabulous finale.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect for starters such as house pâté or wild terrines, dark mushroom sauces, stews and dark poultry such as duck or guinea fowl. Also ideal with various steak options, grilled meat and semi-hard and hard cheeses such as Sbrinz or mountain cheese.
