Tasting note
Light golden yellow. As a “little Chardonnay” between big Burgundians, this wine has often caused astonishment at international tastings. Lovers of the variety appreciate it for its enormous price/pleasure ratio. Complex, exotic fruits, nuts, vanilla, persistent, integrated barrique, with a fine, burgundy note. Develops great with air in a big glass!
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty starters, fish and seafood, vegetable quiche, gratin or cheese platters.
Vinification
According to the old Burgundy tradition: Fermentation in French barriques, stays on the yeast in barriques for 10 months, regular stirring of the yeast increases complexity and richness of taste, preserves freshness. One of South Africa's best Chardonnay wines.
