About the wine
The winemaker from the French winery Michel Faraud greets us with this wine, which he grows in the Côtes du Rhône countryside. With the dominant Shiraz 2014 — Gigondas AOC Domaine du Cayron, nuances and accents are redefined. Flaschenpöstler tip: Pair this Shiraz with roasted vegetables or barbecue.

Tasting note
It smells intensely of black berries and wild herbs, is full-bodied and profound, compact, with velvety tannin and typical grenache sweetness on the finish. Great red wine for Provençal cuisine.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal for lamb dishes, braised beef, game ragout, aged hard cheese, ratatouille, roasts with Mediterranean herbs or pasta with spicy meat sauces. Also very nice as a powerful menu wine for festive occasions.
Vinification
Traditional mash fermentation, long maceration, aging in concrete tanks and partly in large wooden barrels (foudres). No dominant use of wood — focus on terroir expression, fruit and structure. Domaine du Cayron is a family business with traditional style, known for long-lasting, honest Gigondas wines.
