Frappato is Sicily's autochthonous grape variety, which is said to be related to Sangiovese. Considering the introduction of the vine first by the Phoenicians and later by the Greeks (Magna Grecia), one must almost assume that Frappato is older than Sangiovese and that it has gradually adapted to the cooler climate of Central Italy. Even in the hot, dry climate of southern Sicily, Frappato is a late-ripening variety, which is just an advantage! The Frappato from Feudi del Pisciotto is profound, well-structured, of not too deep color and, to match, of racy elegance.
