About the wine
If we can offer something special for Christmas 2021, it is this distinctive red wine 2015 — Finca Mirador Malbec Mendoza. The winemaker from the Argentinean winery Achaval Ferrer absolutely masters his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the beautiful and sunny Mendoza countryside. Tasting note
Santiago Achaval and Manuel Ferrer founded their Achaval-Ferrer winery in Argentina's most important wine-growing region Mendoza at the end of the 1990s. Within a very short period of time, the wines became the highest quality in the country. Achaval-Ferrer is now part of the Tenute del Mondo group, such as Ornellaia. Achaval-Ferrer's greatest treasure are vineyards with vines over a hundred years old, which are located at 700 — 1100 meters above sea level. The small 4-hectare Finca Mirador, Achaval-Ferrer's lowest vineyard, is located at 700 meters above sea level. It was planted in 1921 and the yield of these old vines is a modest 14 hl/ha. At this altitude, the grapes reach higher ripeness and a correspondingly more intense fruit aroma. Earthy, spicy, full-bodied in taste and with the proverbial Achaval Ferrer freshness.
