About the wine
Gialdi Vini SA was founded in 1953 by Guglielmo Gialdi, whose son Feliciano manages it today. Originally active in the wine trade, the company underwent a change in 1984 when Feliciano decided to take over a wine business in lower Leventina and start producing Ticino wines. Thanks to considerable and continuous investments in the wineries in Mendrisio and Bodio, Gialdi Vini is now processing — which also includes the companies Brivio (since 2001) and Zamberlani (since 2006), grapes from around 300 winemakers from the region.

Tasting note
Rich, dark ruby red. Intense and complex bouquet. With fruity notes of red and black berries, black cherry, as well as floral aspects such as violets but also aromas reminiscent of black pepper and licorice. Full-bodied, powerful and rich in taste. Fresh and fruity, with ripe and well-integrated tannins. With an elegant and persistent finish.

Vinification
The wines are pressed using the traditional method with a maceration of 9 - 14 days at 26 - 30 °C. After biological acid degradation, the wines mature in new (50%) and one-year (50%) barriques for 12 months, depending on the grape variety and structure. The 4 grape varieties were vinified separately and only assembled shortly before bottling.
