About the wine
El Castro is a revolutionary — when it comes to quality! Altos de Rioja is a small, fine winery in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. It was only founded in 2006. That will be remembered: Its dense ruby red lends an extravagant touch to any occasion. The playful aromas of black cherry, chocolate and cooked blackberry express a lot of finesse with a very unique structure. Afterwards, the playful nuances of prune, clove and marmalade reveal their own character. A fruity red wine with a strong body and fresh acidity, which harmoniously develops its complex structure with finely developed tannins on the tongue and palate.
