About the wine
We have a special, strong Pinot Noir from 2006 for you, which is a source of enthusiasm among many wine connoisseurs. The gravelly, slanted soils in Burgundy offer the winemaker from the French winery Joseph Drouhin everything he needs to live out his craft and produce a wine for discerning connoisseurs. Tasting note
The wine is intense ruby red with slight garnet reflections. On the nose, complex aromas of ripe red berries, cherries, violets and fine spicy notes develop, accompanied by a touch of undergrowth and delicate roasted aromas. On the palate, Corton-Bressandes is powerful and structured, with precise acidity, silky tannins and a fine mineral depth. The aftertaste is long, complex and elegant.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect with roasted lamb, game dishes, beef stew or aged hard cheese.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand, carefully selected and traditionally fermented in an open wooden fermentation tank. The wine is aged for 14-18 months in French oak barrels, around a third of them new ones, to give the wine finesse and shelf life.
