In contrast to the remaining individual vineyards of the estate, the 1.3 hectare Les Pins site is dominated by clay in the soil. The heavy and nutritious soil gives the blend of 50% Cabernet Franc and Merlot a wonderfully deep and long fruit on the nose with aromas of cassis and dried herbs. In the mouth, however, the surprise for now, the fresh, slightly tart note of Cabernet Franc dominates here at a young age, giving this wine a wonderful lightness and freshness. On the palate, both characters of the wine then combine to create a harmonious, dense and long-lasting aroma.
