Tasting note
On the nose, red and dark berries (cherry, wild raspberry), dried roses, violets, plus fine spices, forest soil, truffles and a whiff of smoke. Accurate and focused on the palate with clear fruit, fresh, supporting acidity, fine-grained tannins and a cool, mineral depth. The finish is long, complex and Burgundian elegant. A wine that combines 2010 freshness with clos-de-vougeot structure.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with venison with wild mushrooms, duck breast with cherries, beef bourguignon or aged soft cheeses such as Époisses or Soumaintrain.
