Tasting note
The seductive aromas are led by a lively floral expression, followed by generous black cherries, plums and black currants. The use of oak is subtle and supportive and enhances the aromatic profile with oak spice and graphite notes. On the palate, it is balanced with a balanced acidity that makes for a rich and silky mouthfeel.
Culinary recommendation
Goes very well with Szeged goulash.
Vinification
The grapes for Rupert & Rothschild Classique were harvested by hand and selected with great care for the rest of the production process. Alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with extended duration on the skin. After fermentation was complete, the wine aged in 225l and 300l French oak barrels for 16 months.
