About the wine
This dominant Shiraz 2011 — Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Classique is a triumph to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! To get a feel for the remote and untouched landscape aesthetics of the Côtes du Rhône, there is no way around this red wine, which the French winery Domaine St. Préfert masters with a keen sense of texture. Tasting note
Clear, dense ruby red with purple reflections. In addition to compote-like aromas, the fresh berry notes such as cassis and blackberries come into their own. These are complemented by a fine woody note, vanilla and roasted aromas. After a long start, the strong body and well-integrated tannins come into their own. The berry aromas that were already present in the nose are once again coming into their own now. There are also aromas of earth, tobacco and leather. The fruity, balanced wine with ageing potential.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with veal with eggplant, grilled fish with red wine sauce and grilled chicken with rosemary.
