About the wine

Family-owned since 1874, Santa Duc is a permanent institution on the southern Rhone and the leading winery in Gigondas. In 1985, the father gave this treasure to his son Yves Gras, exceptional talent, traditionalist, visionary. Returning to the old virtues and with his great terroir wines, he has made a significant contribution to bringing Gigondas out of the shadow of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. For decades, his wines have been reliably among the best in the appellation. They impressively demonstrate that Gigondas not only produce rough, alcoholic and excessive wines, but also fascinating, expressive and rich in finesse.

Tasting note
Extroverted, avant-garde character. Wonderful perfume, the fresh and juicy red fruit makes the dark, slender, decidedly stylish figure glow, very urban and avant-garde in this slender presence, lots of dark, playful minerality, then flirtatious, a touch of caramel. On the palate with a vital dark presence, narrow cut and yet anything but fragile, precise in expression, sets accents, avant-garde, intellectual play, so much finesse, fresh, dark, light-energetic minerality, moist dark earth, accompanying intensity, energy not strength or heaviness, vital, long. Fascinating, fresh and finesse Chateauneuf-du-Pape that you won't want to let go of. Great entertainment!
