Tasting note
The Saffran vineyard is a monopoly owned by Erwin Sabathi. The soils here are a bit more clayey compared to Pössnitzberg. The wine is aged in small oak barrels for around 18 months. The nose shows aromas of light stone fruit, juicy apricots and orange peel, plus fine exoticism, underscored with notes of spring honey, white flowers and a mineral-smoky flint touch. On the palate, with juicy fruit, elegant, with a balanced acidity structure and mineral-salty aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with various starters, such as pumpkin ravioli with mountain cheese and seed oil, hearty soups or risotto and pasta with mushrooms, as well as fish and crustaceans and white meat.
