About the wine
Over 80% are fermented in French oak barriques, of which at least a third are new annually. The Chardonnay Collection matures for ten months in the same barriques on the lees. In 1978, Donald M. Hess acquired the first cultivated areas in the Californian Napa Valley, on the hills of Mount Veeder, and began building the grape estate, which today covers approx. 1000 ha.

Tasting note
Pale golden yellow. A virgin wood content of only 18% gives a wonderful mouth fullness, but also allows ripe fruit aromas such as nectarine, pear and even fresh citrus notes to come into their own. Everything is caressed by a hint of vanilla and delicate brioche. A noble Chardonnay in a class of its own.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with veal fillet in a cream sauce, soft cheese.
