Chardonnay Langhe DOC 2024 - Fletcher

Fletcher's single-varietal Chardonnay is one of the most exciting and high-quality white wines in the Langhe. No wonder, he has become a big crowd favorite in just a few years — our allocation quickly sells out. For the C24, notabene from an excellent white wine vintage, Dave was once again able to draw on 40% of his own grapes. These come from a plot of land right next to his “train station”, which he planted a few years ago and called “Station Block” in Australian style. As usual, the remaining around 60% come from the Barbaresco “Cars” location, just a stone's throw from the village of Barbaresco. Harmony and balance are also the magic words with C24. The nose shows a wonderful typicity with classic Chardonnay aromas: citric, with yellow fruits such as apple and pear, plus floral notes and a fine hint of hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is fresh, round and pleasantly creamy, everything is in one piece. The acid is perfectly integrated, but still provides lively excitement and a pleasant drinking flow. Stylistically, Fletcher s Chardonnay once again moves between Chablis and Puligny, with subtle minerality, a touch of salinity and subtle wood support that increases complexity. An excellent, elegantly structured Fletcher Chardonnay — and once again a great success for Dave!
