About the wine
The loamy, shale soils in Burgundy form the breeding ground for this Chardonnay. The winemaker from the French winery La Chablisienne knows how to use them and delights us with this white wine. Tasting note
Light golden yellow. Open, quite intense nose with notes of ripe pome fruit, apple, pear, ripe kiwi and white flowers. This is accompanied by subtle tire notes, some yeast, and roasted nuts. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and crisp acidity. Aromas of ripe citrus, pome fruit, roasted nuts, accompanied by mineral notes. Typical, expressive and straight-lined Chablis with a refreshing aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Fresh aperitif wine or as an accompaniment to mussels and shellfish, terrines and poached fish.
Vinification
The grapes from the vines, which are on average 20 years old, are harvested at optimum maturity. The must then remains in contact with the skins for a short time in order to achieve an increased abundance of aromas. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in traditional wooden barrels. Further aging on fine yeast takes place in wooden barrels and stainless steel containers for twelve months.
