Tasting note
Botrys shows overripe notes of dry fruit, intense spicy aromas and infinite complexity. On the palate, what the bouquet announces continues: intensity and endless length with exciting chords.
Culinary recommendation
A sweet, aromatic dessert wine that goes well with fruity desserts such as tarte tatin, peach or apricot tarts or lemon and berry mousse. It also goes perfectly with aged blue cheese such as Roquefort or Gorgonzola and can be enjoyed as an ideal accompaniment to nuts or dark chocolate. A fine wine that goes particularly well with sweet or spicy desserts.
Vinification
A gimmick by the Azienda Mastrojanni, that's why they're so successful: late-picked grapes are hung up under the roof and stay there until the spring sun in Montalcino shrinks the berries into raisins. After grinding and pressing, a honey-sweet must flows into the barrel, where it slowly ferments and develops and enhances its variety of aromas.
