About the wine
What Markus Schneider has achieved in recent years is hard to believe. In 1994, he started from scratch, so to speak. And today, 22 years later, he and his team process over 92 hectares, fill around 800,000 bottles a year and is described by the German trade press as The Phenomenon and The Favourite of the Young Scene.

Tasting note
Ruby red with an intensely fruity nose of ripe berries such as raspberries, blackberries, cassis as well as cherries, plums, spices and pleasant roasted aromas. The palate is full-bodied with fine tannins and juicy acid structure. Despite the concentration, the black print does not look cluttered and retains its freshness and berry aromas without being jammy.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef steaks, BBQ, spicy stew, pasta with truffles or strong hard cheese.
Vinification
Manual harvesting of highly ripe and healthy grapes, traditional mash fermentation in a wood fermentation tank and red wine fermenter, with a shelf life of 14 weeks. Gentle pressing under low pressure. Then aging in wooden barrels.
