About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Prunotto masteres this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the blooming and fertile landscape of Piedmont. The snappy Nebbiolo 2015 — Barbaresco DOCG is the missing piece of the puzzle in your wine rack. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Nebbiolo is ideal for serving with prosciutto or burrata.
Tasting note
Medium ruby red. Delicately spicy on the nose, charming and accessible. Subtle undergrowth, violets, culinary herbs, red cherries. Tight on the palate. Present tannins, well-balanced acidity, almost muscular texture. The aromas on the nose are repeated. The aftertaste is medium-long and well-balanced.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with coniglio or brasato with polenta.
Vinification
The soils are rich in lime, magnesium and zinc. After the late harvest, the grapes are slightly crushed and fermented on the mash in steel tanks. The wine is aged for ten months in 50 hl wooden barrels. To refine, the wine is aged in the bottle for a further six months.
