About the wine
There is a lot of history in “Castello di Verduno “, which is now owned by Gabriella Burlotto and Franco Bianco. The big story, that of Savoy and King Charles Albert, and the small story of the Burlotto and Bianco families, which are intertwined around a single great passion for the noblest vines, the Nebbiolo. After fifteen years in Eritrea, in 1950, the commander Giovanni Battista Burlotto left Verduno and considered creating a wine and gastronomic meeting place with the possibility of staying. Now the commander's three daughters and their families passionately dedicate their time to what Verduno Castle is today: hotel, restaurant, wine cellar and farm.

Tasting note
Ruby red with orange reflections. Fresh on the palate with notes of red berries. Beautifully integrated wood notes Good acidity and pleasant tannins. Long-lasting aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meat, game and strong cheese.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested at the beginning of October and fermented in steel tanks. It then matured for 18 months in large Slovenian wooden barrels and 3 more months in steel tanks. Before the wine is sold, it is left in the bottle for at least 14 months.
