About the wine
This dominant white wine 2016 — Babylonstoren Chenin Blanc is in the truest sense of the word a triumph to the last drop! The winemaker from the South African winery Babylonstoren grows this wine in the countryside. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this chenin blanc with puff pastry or meatballs in tomato sauce.

Tasting note
The Babylonstoren Chenin Blanc smells seductively fresh of tropical fruits, melon, pineapple and guava. A wine that is reminiscent of summer even in its scent. On the palate, this unwooded white is sparkling, crunchy and refreshing with a touch of fresh gooseberries and fine notes of fragrant pear.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with salads, yellow fruits, vegetable dishes and light fish dishes, or simply on its own.
Vinification
The grapes were gently pressed and cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks for three weeks. The wine was stored on fine yeast for 4 months before it was bottled. 10% of Chenin Blanc was aged in 4000 liter French oak barrels, nomblot cement batters and teracotta amphoras.
