Oliver and Nicole Matter now practice fourth-generation distillery at the Kallnach Distillery. Although the main product is the Martinazzi aperitif, many other spirits and liqueurs come from the company and associated estate. Great-grandfather Ernst Luginbühl-Bögli had once exchanged an absinthe recipe from Val-de-Travers for an award-winning cow here. The first Kallnacher absinthe was created from this. Since legalization in 2005, the distillery has been particularly successful in reproducing authentic absinthes from the 19th century. For once, however, the 'Mansinthe' is not based on an ancient recipe, but came from the creative spirit of Marilyn Manson and Oliver Matter. Two years after the initial idea, the spirit was published in August 2007. Distilled from fine herbs, without artificial colors and not pre-sugared, this absinthe is intended to inspire not only the rocker fan base, but also the discerning absinthe.
