About the wine
Fully ripe Gewürztraminer grapes from the Burghalde vineyard in Zurich's Riesbach quarter were used for the premium 1834 vin de liqueur. After manual harvesting and gentle pressing, fermentation was stopped early to preserve the natural sweetness. The sprinkling with brandy made from the previous year's Gewürztraminer grapes gives the wine the character of a Zurich White Port. After aging in the bottle for a long time, the result is a harmonious, expressive vin de liqueur.
