Tasting note
On the nose, characteristic Islay smoke with aromas of smoked bacon and marshmallows roasted over a fire. There are also nuances of pineapple and caramelized fruit. On the palate, more intense peat smoke, exotic fruits and a touch of lemon.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with spicy grilled dishes such as BBQ ribs or grilled lamb. Dark chocolate and strong cheeses such as aged gouda or blue cheese also harmonize excellently with the smoky and sweet aromas. Enjoy it pure to experience the full force of taste, or on ice to bring out the sweet notes.
Vinification
This limited edition single malt is distilled on the Isle of Islay and first aged in oak barrels. For the finish, it is transferred to rum barrels, which gives it its distinctive mix of sweet and spicy notes. The influence of rum barrels brings an additional dimension to the already smoky and strong nature of this whiskey.
