About the wine
At the beginning of 2000, the estate was purchased by Roman Niewodniczanski, restored and expanded to include numerous prime locations or replaced less good locations. The current size of around 75 hectares, which are located almost exclusively in the core zones of the renowned Saar steep slopes, is impressive. The aim is to produce wines with a high harmony of ingredients that are digestible on the palate and embody pure drinking pleasure. The characteristics of every vineyard location should be optimally expressed, with the results being predominantly dry-aged, mineral-rich wines with ripe fruit and low alcohol content.

Tasting note
Spring awakening - Delicate, curious yet somewhat pubescent, deliciously scented of white peach, fresh passion fruit, a tickling, awakening woodruff scent, followed by spring-like, delicate herbs such as chervil and white tea. Soft and delicate as a cloud on the palate, only to confuse a bit, suddenly the necessary drama comes into this work with a surprising grip and unexpected freshness. Exciting, lasting and simply beautiful.
Vinification
Selective harvest of fully ripe grapes by hand. Gentle, gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts in oak barrels and temperature-controlled steel tanks, aging in steel tanks and in large wooden barrels. No additives or wine treatment agents.
