About the wine
The winery can look back on an eventful history. But it wasn't until Jens Reidel and Christine Dinse took over the estate in 2009, made Karsten Peter a winemaker and turned everything upside down that the glorious times of the 1960s to the 80s were built on again. The estate only has large vineyards and there is hardly a winery in Germany that has such an abundance and variety of prime locations. Even the entry-level Riesling shows unequivocally that this potential is being fully exploited. This is no longer a secret and Gut Hermannsberg is being showered with lots of praise, points and awards.

Tasting note
THAT IS FREEDOM - so naked, so free, so intense, straight forward, shooting in the nose, slate, light to green fruit, demanding and encouraging, as tart and as exhilarating, in the provocative slate minerality a big heart, the ripe, warm, round orange fruit in the depths. On the palate again, this incomparably uninhibited pull, undisguised, direct, fast, free from any bigotry, so naturally naked and sharp, tingling and tingling, fresh, fizzy, slate, herb, herb! Who could resist that? Get out of your comfort zone - into happiness, away with the car port, out with life! Oh my Riesling!
