About the wine
Virtus is the symbiosis of two different family stories and their passion. The passion for dressage comes from the grandfather of current owner Íñigo López de la Osa Escribano. And Íñigo owes his interest in viticulture to his mother Paloma Escribano. It comes from an old wine dynasty and has strongly influenced Virtus's values such as innovation, sustainability and biodynamics.

Tasting note
As the showpiece of the Bodegas Virtus, the Gran Reserva impresses with dark cherry red and garnet reflections. The nose senses aromas of blackberries, cassis, red berries, coconut and vanilla. Dense and powerful. Notes of chocolate, marzipan, leather and roasted and smoked spices numb the connoisseur's senses.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty stews, but also entrecote and grill menus, goulash, ripe cheese and paella.
Vinification
The grapes come from two individual vineyards that bear vines of an average age of 60 years. They are located in the La Horra and Hontoria de Valdearados Mountains at around 850 m above sea level and grow on lime with a loamy and sandy texture. The reading is done entirely by hand. Even the thinning in the vineyard and the green harvest reinforce the character and top quality. Aged for around 24 months on lees in French barriques.
