About the wine
The name of the winery is a tribute to the humanist and poet Agnolo Ambrogini (14541494), known as Angelo Poliziano, born in Montepulciano. The company was founded in 1961 by Dino Carletti, the father of the current owner Federico Carletti. In Montepulciano alone, he cultivates 120 hectares. There was a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Poliziano for the first time in 1968. 150,000 to 180,000 bottles are produced today.
Tasting note
On the nose, impressions of cherry and plum as well as blackberries and blueberries, scent of violets, spicy notes of cinnamon, cloves and vanilla. Full-bodied and enveloping on the palate, supported by balanced and ripe tannins with good freshness. An elegant wine with structure.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with aged cheese, beef, grilled meat, game.
Vinification
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is aged for 15-18 months in barriques and large French wood barrels.
