About the wine
With Calimaia, we invite you to celebrate an important premiere. The Tuscan noble family Frescobaldi presents their first Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Grown on the rolling hills between Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia, the first vintage of 2019 is already a successful calling card for this historic growing region.

Tasting note
Shiny ruby red with a slightly translucent character. The bouquet offers an abundance of fresh cherry fruit, wild raspberries and tempting gingerbread seasoning, complemented by caramel and a subtle note of undergrowth. The wine starts off soft and then unfolds the velvety Sangiovese fruit, which is presented by accentuated red berries, supported by firm tannins and subtle roasted aromas. Energetic and harmonious, it ends in an enchanting finale that shows promising reserves.

Goes well with starters such as dark poultry, steak options, grilled meats, semi-hard and hard cheeses.
