Tasting note
This Rioja impresses with a deep ruby red color and an intense nose of ripe red fruits, dried herbs and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is complex and full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and refreshing acidity. Flavours of plum, tobacco and chocolate give the wine depth, while the long finish with spicy and woody notes makes a lasting impression.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled meat, lamb or stews. It is also a pleasure with mature cheese such as Manchego or a hearty roast.
Vinification
The grapes come from old vines from the renowned Sonsierra region, which produce a naturally low yield. After harvesting, there is a cool maceration followed by controlled fermentation. The wine ages in French and American oak barrels for 18 months before being bottled.
