Tasting note
Loto is the top cuvée from Villa Santo Stefano and an uncompromisingly powerful red wine with unmistakable style and an enormous presence. In the glass, an intense ruby red with violet reflections, slightly tinged with garnet - typical of a Bordeaux blend. The nose shows a clear, elegant bouquet with notes of sweet pipe tobacco, black currants and dark chocolate. A green-spicy nuance of paprika refers to Cabernet Franc. Lively on the palate, with fresh acidity and vibrating tension. Vinification
The individual grape varieties were vinified separately. Mash fermentation lasted 15 days. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French oak barriques. After blending, the LOTO was combined in a concrete barrel and aged there for a further 9-10 months before being bottled.
