Tasting note
This groundbreaking red wine cuvée reflects the microclimate and terroir of Vergelegen. The grapes come from our warmer vineyards facing north and northwest, which produce juicy fruits and ripe tannins, and were selected by hand. Cassis, pencil chips and spices dominate the nose and palate.
Culinary recommendation
Enjoy this strong red wine with lamb or grilled tenderloin.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested at optimum ripeness for each variety. They were subjected to various fermentation techniques and times in stainless steel tanks, according to the characteristics of each variety. It was then aged in combinations of barrel size and type of oak wood (including the duration of storage in oak wood), after which the alchemical process of blending took place.
