About the wine
Tamborini Vini, founded in 1944 by Carlo Tamborini, is today an established name in Ticino. For over 70 years, characterful wines, particularly the Ticino Merlot, have been produced here with great passion and skill. The family business in Lamone cultivates 23 hectares of vineyards and produces a diverse selection — from fresh white wines to prestigious Quattromani. Awarded gold at the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse 2025.

Tasting note
Bright pale yellow with greenish tones. Its intense bouquet is fresh, fruity and floral. Rich, spicy, harmonious and persistent wine.

Excellent for aperitifs, sea fish and white meats
Vinification
A few words about vinification: Controlled fermentation at low temperature (~ 18° C) The Tenuta Vallombrosa of the Famiglia Lucchini can be considered the cradle of Ticino Merlot cultivation, after the former owner Dr. Rossi began around 1900 to rebuild the old vineyards of the Tenuta destroyed by phylloxera with the Bordeaux Merlot variety to stock up. The current owners of this beautiful Tenuta in Malcantone would like to withdraw from day-to-day business and have offered the Tamborini family a cooperation. Today, vineyard maintenance and distribution are handled by Tamborini, while a cousin of Claudio Tamborini is responsible for wine development.
