The enthusiastic and committed winemaker Javier San Pedro stands for top Rioja wines from Laguardia in the Basque part of Rioja. His vineyards are located here in the privileged area of Rioja Alavesa thanks to the altitude. His great passion is the highest altitudes and plots of land around 700 meters above sea level right on the flanks of the Sierra de Cantabria, which provide natural protection against the effects of the cool and humid north coast. The soils are barren, the fruit is fresh and intense thanks to small berries with thick skins. These are Grand Cru conditions, so to speak. This is also where the plots with the rare Tempranillo Blanco are located, which goes into the noble fruity white barrique top wine Caudalia, in combination with the classic white Rioja grape Viura.
