About the wine

Not a story, a fairy tale. In this bewitchingly beautiful and hot valley, winegrowers used to grow grapes only for the largest port wine producers with hard work but little passion until Dirk van Niepoort arrived. With his bold idea of founding a kind of cooperative with numerous winegrowers and processing the grapes with an excellent team into independent wines that reflect their origin, he woke the Douro Valley from deep sleep. Since 1999, the Lavradores de Feitoria community has been producing remarkable and surprisingly inexpensive wines year after year.
