About the wine
Not a story, a fairy tale. In this beguilingly beautiful and hot valley, winegrowers used to grow grapes only for the big port wine producers with hard work but little passion until Dirk van Niepoort arrived. With his bold idea of founding a kind of cooperative with numerous winegrowers and processing the grapes with an excellent team into independent wines that reflect their origin, he woke the Douro Valley from deep sleep. Since 1999, the Lavradores de Feitoria community has been producing remarkable and surprisingly inexpensive wines year after year.

Tasting note
Self-reliant, mature personality with an eventful life. Dark and mysterious, leather, peat, dark berries, plums and herbs, fascinatingly deep. On the palate, initially soft and with conciliatory fruit sweetness, then tells a moving story for a long time in dark, even tart and slightly bitter tones.
Vinification
Very low returns. Selective manual reading and gentle aging. The aging takes place in used French barriques for 14 months.
