About the wine
If we can offer something special for Christmas 2021, it's this distinctive Merlot 2020 — Toscana IGT Pietranera. With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Piaggia masters this red wine in the blooming and fertile Tuscan countryside. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Merlot with slightly spicy red meat or poultry.
Tasting note
Ruby red color. Complex on the nose, it is reminiscent of wild fruit jam, sweet spices, thyme and cocoa. Full body. Excellent balance of alcohol, acidity and tannins with a persistent finish and a pleasant sweet and fruity aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with sausage and cheese, cooked/cooked meat or a hearty casserole or gratin.
Vinification
Fermented on the skins for 18-20 days. Aging barriques for 10 months
