About the wine
Tobias Schmid founded the family business in 1866, which is now run by Christoph Schmid in the 5th generation. Wine-growing in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley has an ancient tradition and dates back to Roman times. The vineyards are already mentioned in the oldest Bernecker document from 892. Castles and palaces were built in the vineyards. This also includes Rosenburg, which is owned by our family and is the landmark of our wines and winery.
