Tasting note
The wine has an intense ruby red. The nose is broad and very typical of dão, with rich red fruits and cassis. Spicy and complex, with very well-integrated wood and finely integrated but grippy tannins. But this red wine is also very fresh with a nice fruit concentration. Medium-bodied, juicy, with delicious granite minerality. The aftertaste is persistent and lively.
Vinification
Cold maceration for 48 hours Fermentation in traditional lagares and concrete. 18 months in 50% French and German 500-liter wooden barrels and 50% in concrete.
