About the wine
Ticinello comes from the vineyards in Ligornetto, Castel San Pietro and Novazzano. Careful harvesting and soft pressing. Ageing for 13 months in stainless steel containers. The history of Merlot del Ticino begins in 1905. At the end of the previous century, phylloxera had destroyed almost all of Ticino's vineyards. As a result, the creation of a new wine-growing culture became necessary. The study carried out at that time showed that the Merlot grape variety was the most suitable. Today, it has grown to over 1250 hectares in 176 municipalities.

Tasting note
A pleasantly fruity Ticino Merlot. On the nose, aromas of cherries and strawberries followed by notes such as plums, blueberries, chocolate and a hint of tobacco. Smooth and fresh on the palate.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pasta, grilled meats, charcuterie.
Vinification
Aged in steel tanks and partly aged for around twelve months in large oak barrels.
