To produce Benriach Twelve, the Benriach spirit is aged in three barrels for at least twelve years in sherry barrels, bourbon barrels and port wine barrels. The whiskey from each cask is then expertly blended together to create a soft, sherry-rich single malt infused with baked fruit, maple honey, and cocoa, perfectly balanced with a lingering sultana and spiced mocha finish.

Fruit & cocoa The Twelve remains a sherry-rich single malt that builds on the legacy of Benriach aromas, which were released at this age primarily with sherry barrel aging. The addition of port wine barrel aging to this new recipe has intensified the notes of baked fruit. To produce Benriach The Twelve, whiskeys are aged in sherry, bourbon and port wine barrels for at least twelve years. The whiskey from each cask is then expertly blended together to create a smooth, sherry-rich single malt that is coated with baked fruit, maple honey and cocoa and is perfectly balanced with a lingering sultana and spicy mocha finish.
Vinification
In the heart of Speyside A Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that is as fascinating and unusual as Benriach would have been inconceivable without a unique whiskey heritage from 1898, when founder John Duff set up his distillery. Benriach stands on the site of the old Riach farm in northern Speyside and draws water from a mineral-rich groundwater reservoir deep below the distillery. Thanks to a long-standing tradition of distilling whiskey — classic unpeated, Highland peated and triple distilled — and a unique selection of barrels from around the world, whiskey makers are able to explore the full flavor options of single malt and produce some of the richest, most complex whiskeys in Speyside.
